SIMTI

SIMTI, the Italian Society of Transfusion Medicine and Immunohaematology, has been active in research and innovation in transfusion medicine since 1954. The society supports the professional community through scientific information, education, events and resources focused on the field. Its offerings include residential courses, distance-learning activities, conferences, seminars and meetings, with event planning, organization and management provided through SIMTIPRO. Members can access reserved materials, including recommendations, opinions from the Board of Directors, assembly minutes, press reviews and the journal Il Servizio Trasfusionale.

SIMTI also publishes Blood Transfusion, a scientific journal dedicated to transfusion medicine since 1955. Its online resources include Il Donatore che viaggia, a guide for healthcare professionals assessing blood donor eligibility after travel abroad, updated in line with guidance from Italy’s National Blood Centre. The society offers a sponsorship process for scientific events and national or regional promotional and informational initiatives. Through its news, educational content, publications and professional activities, SIMTI helps share knowledge and support ongoing development in transfusion medicine and immunohaematology.
