Sinapxon

Sinapxon is an interactive educational project that helps learners explore neuroscience through visual, experimental simulations. Its central tool is a simulator focused on neuronal communication and the effects of drugs on the nervous system. Users can work through two modules: Module 1, Neuronal Excitability, and Module 2, Neuropharmacology. Each module includes pretests, experiments, and posttests, giving learners opportunities to investigate concepts and review their understanding.

The simulator is accompanied by a book containing theoretical material and practical exercises to guide users through the program. Sinapxon was developed by a team of university teaching staff, coordinated by Inmaculada Pereda-Pérez, with additional collaborators. The project shares updates through its social media channels and provides a website and email address for enquiries. It was developed with the collaboration of the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology and Spain’s Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities. Sinapxon offers an accessible way to study neuronal processes and neuropharmacology by combining guided learning resources with interactive experimentation.
