Sindserj

The Sindicato dos/as Sociólogos/as do Estado do Rio de Janeiro, known as SINDSERJ, is a professional union founded in 2008 to represent sociologists in the state of Rio de Janeiro. Its website shares information about the organization, its statutes and manifesto, relevant legislation, and the role and professional registration of sociologists. It also publishes news and educational content on topics including sociology, social inequality, education, and women’s rights, and provides guidance on who may teach sociology in secondary school.

SINDSERJ promotes discussion of the social sciences through the Programa Conexão Sociologia, a weekly live broadcast presented on Wednesdays in partnership with the Instituto de Sociologia do Rio de Janeiro and Rádio Mundial News FM. The site also lists partnerships and offers members access to affordable legal assistance through Vallim & Scaramussa Advogados, whose services include legal practice, consulting, real estate, and traffic matters. Visitors can find contact details, links to social science organizations and media, and information about obtaining professional registration as a sociologist.
