Singapore Lyric Opera (SLO) is Singapore’s flagship Western opera theatre company, bringing together a vibrant community of musicians united by a passion for opera. The organisation stages celebrated works from the Western operatic canon and presents performers from Singapore and overseas, while making the art form accessible and relevant to local audiences.
SLO’s programme includes full opera productions, semi-staged performances, concerts, choral showcases and special events. Recent and upcoming works include Puccini’s Madama Butterfly, Mozart’s The Magic Flute and Bizet’s Carmen, alongside programmes that combine opera with musical theatre, folk songs and familiar favourites. Its Children’s, Youth and Adult Choruses perform for audiences and provide opportunities for singers to develop their skills.
Education and community engagement are central to SLO’s activities. The company offers an Arts Education Programme for schools, vocal camps for children, chorus open classes and auditions. It also organises outreach performances, fundraising events and opportunities to donate or volunteer.
