About Singapore Writers Festival
Arts House Limited is the driving force behind the Singapore Writers Festival (SWF), a prominent literary event in Asia. Established in 1986, SWF has become an exceptional platform for both global and regional literary talents to engage the audience in a myriad of literary activities. The festival showcases distinguished personalities such as Booker Prize winner Margaret Atwood, renowned British poet Carol Ann Duffy, and Nebula Award winner Neil Gaiman, among others. SWF stands out as a rare multilingual festival, highlighting the beauty of the English, Malay, Chinese, and Tamil languages.
This year's theme, "Plot Twist," seeks to challenge conventional literary norms and elevate unexpected connections across various genres, offering over 200 exciting programs. Festival Pass and SWF Youth Pass provide access to 150 programs, from immersive experiences and performances to insightful conversations and author meet-and-greets. SWF aims to inspire a profound appreciation for literature, connecting writers, academics, and artists, while fostering a better understanding of the world we live in.
