Monochrome

Monochrome is an independent creative studio based at 204 Rue Saint-Martin in Paris, France. Its work combines game development, virtual reality, visual design, animation, and interactive experiences. The studio’s featured project is Is Paris Burning?, described as an aesthetic first-person shooter made for virtual reality. Set in a futuristic, imaginary Paris five years into the Singularity, the game follows a rebellion led by Moore, a global artificial intelligence program. Players confront successive waves of hostile assistant robots across five levels with increasing difficulty.

Developed using Unreal, Is Paris Burning? draws on Monochrome’s three years of VR creation experience, with a focus on detailed 3D graphics, animation, special effects, and smooth 90-frame-per-second rendering. The project also includes a collection of original assets—such as weapons, vehicles, and robots—created at the Monochrome Factory. Monochrome invites VR players to join its community, provide feedback, and participate in beta testing. The site advertises a three-level demo and a press kit for prospective testers, alongside information about the game’s story, development, and community.
