Siposten Sukuseura ry is a Finnish family association founded in Lieksa on 10 August 1995. It brings together people connected to the Siponen family and its branches, including families from North Karelia, Savo and northern Finland. The association works to research the family’s history, preserve its traditions, honour earlier generations and strengthen ties among relatives.
Its family-history work grew from research begun by founder Raimo Siponen and was completed by the association. The research includes several thousand people and led to the 2006 book Pielisen Siposia. Members and visitors can explore historical records, family stories, photographs, recipes and information about past gatherings through the association’s website. It also arranges family reunions, generally every other year, and publishes the Sukuviesti newsletter.
The association offers membership, with an annual fee or a lifetime option; new members receive Pielisen Siposia as a gift. Its listed merchandise includes shirts, caps, mugs, flags, towels, medals, a photo book, scarves, sauna textiles and other family-themed items.
