About Sisabelo Saka Inclusive School
Sisabelo Saka Inclusive School, founded in January 2019 by Mulambwa Manengu Gondwe, aims to empower children with visual impairments in Lusaka, Zambia, by providing a supportive learning environment. Rooted in the Lozi phrase translating to "my place of safety and security," Sisabelo Saka is committed to nurturing students' abilities to read, write, and communicate effectively, preparing them to thrive in an inclusive society.
The school offers a diverse curriculum tailored to the unique needs of visually impaired children, ensuring they acquire essential skills and confidence. Additionally, Sisabelo Saka is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4, aspiring to include sighted learners in the future. With a dedicated team of educators, including founding teachers with extensive backgrounds in special education, Sisabelo Saka stands as a beacon of hope for children at risk of educational neglect in Zambia. The school operates as a not-for-profit institution, relying on the generous support of community partners to fulfill its mission.
