About Sisters of Code
Sisters of Code is a non-profit organization based in Cambodia, dedicated to empowering girls through coding skills. Launched in early 2019, it is the first female coding club in the country, providing after-school coding training for female students aged 10 to 20. The program runs for 18 weeks, during which female students meet weekly with their trainers, who are also female, to learn the secrets of coding, work on projects, and present their works in teams.
Sisters of Code was created to address the male-dominated field of technology in Cambodia and to make female students feel welcome and supported in this industry. By offering a unique non-profit educational program, this initiative aims to give girls the opportunity to explore digital skills in a supportive and encouraging environment.
The organization's mission is to empower and support female students through education, helping them discover their full potential and become digital creators. Sisters of Code believes that by supporting girls in learning digital skills, they can change their future, opening new opportunities and growing their confidence. The program has had a significant impact, with 96% of graduates finding the coding skills useful and 100% recommending it to others.
Sisters of Code has received multiple international awards for its contribution to skills development for women and girls. The organization's vision is to promote creativity, confidence, and support among girls, building a more inclusive and equal digital economy. By supporting Sisters of Code, individuals and organizations can help create a positive impact and promote the economic development of Cambodia.
Join Sisters of Code today to support their mission of empowering girls through education and coding skills, and together, let's make technology an equal opportunity for all.
