Siu Lum

Siu Lum Academy is a martial arts school in Havertown, Pennsylvania, founded by Grandmaster Steven L. Sun. Its programs are designed for people seeking improved health and fitness, practical self-defense, martial arts skills, or a combination of these goals. The academy teaches Southern-style Tiger Crane Kung Fu, traditional Yang-style Tai Chi, Yin-style Baguazhang, and Qigong, with classes ranging from beginner to advanced levels. Training may include individual movement practice, linked forms, weapons training, and sparring, helping students develop skill through focused, progressive instruction.

The academy’s teaching approach breaks forms into groups of movements, building on previously learned material to support clearer understanding and steady progress. Instructors bring decades of training across multiple disciplines and years of teaching experience, and can guide students according to their interests and level of study. Siu Lum Academy also hosts seminars and events for self-defense, additional skills, and enjoyment, and offers a free introductory class.
