Sivananda

The Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centres offer classical yoga education and teacher training through an international network of ashrams and yoga centres. Rooted in an ancient lineage that passes knowledge from teacher to student, the organisation provides courses for newcomers to teaching as well as experienced practitioners seeking deeper study. Its programmes follow the gurukula model: students live with their teachers during training, learning through both formal study and daily life in a supportive yogic environment. Courses are held at ashrams around the world, in settings suited to yoga practice and study.

The main training options include the Teachers’ Training Course (TTC), the Advanced Teachers’ Training Course (ATTC), and Sadhana Intensive. The centres also provide continuing education and further training for yoga teachers. Their broader offerings include yoga classes and teachings on the five points and four paths of yoga, basic asanas, and the Sun Salutation, alongside retreats, workshops, yoga vacations, children’s and teens’ camps, karma yoga, Ayurveda, cultural programmes, and health educator training. The organisation reports nearly 50,000 teacher-training graduates.
