About SJI Trails
SJI Trails is a community-focused resource for discovering and enjoying the trails of San Juan Island, Washington. The site helps visitors and residents explore a varied landscape of coastal viewpoints, forests, marshes, rolling prairies, and wildlife habitats, while learning about the island’s natural beauty and history. Its trail directory covers destinations including Roche Harbor, English Camp, Mount Grant Preserve, Lime Kiln, American Camp, and Cattle Point.
Visitors can download trail maps, use an icon key, and find information about biking and featured walks. Suggested routes include the Deadman Bay to Lime Kiln Lighthouse Loop, Mount Grant Summit Loop, Zylstra Lake Loop, and Louise’s Loop. SJI Trails also promotes community outings, including monthly group hikes organized by the Trails Committee, typically held on the last Saturday at 10 a.
m. The volunteer-powered committee works to maintain and expand the island’s trail network. People can support its work by joining trail projects or meetings, following trail updates, and subscribing to the email newsletter for news and updates
