Our Mission: At St John of God Foundation, we’re passionate about improving the lives of people with intellectual disabilities, mental health challenges, and complex medical needs. Since 1960, we’ve been raising funds to support the incredible work of the St John of God Hospitaller Services Group, helping them provide compassionate care and meaningful services here in Ireland and beyond. What We Do: We support a variety of important services, including: Residential Care: Creating safe, welcoming homes for people with different needs, including complex medical care. Day Services: Offering fun and engaging community activities like sports, drama, and arts & crafts. Respite Services: Providing short-term care for children in places like Suzanne House and Alexandra Manor, giving families a much-needed break. Educational Support: Running programs like Sólás in Belfast that offer tailored education and therapy for children with extra needs. Facility Improvements: Upgrading and renovating spaces like day centers and playgrounds to make them even better for those we support. Our Impact: Thanks to the generous support we receive, we’re able to help improve the quality of life for many people, invest in sustainable and effective services, and provide essential equipment and facilities to meet growing needs. St John of God Foundation raises funds to help people supported by St John of God services live full and meaningful lives. Working across Ireland and Malawi, the Foundation directs donations towards projects for people with intellectual disabilities, mental health difficulties and complex needs. Its Better Life fund supports initiatives in four areas: Better Care, Better Community, Better Spaces & Places, and Better Futures.
The Foundation helps individuals and organizations contribute in ways that suit them. Options include one-off donations, fundraising, wishlists and appeals, corporate giving, legacy gifts, tax-efficient giving, volunteering, events and lodging funds. Through this support, the Foundation helps fund projects that improve care, strengthen communities and create more supportive spaces and opportunities.
