Sjöscouterna

Jönköpings Sjöscoutkår is a nonprofit sea-scouting association in Jönköping, Sweden, offering sailing, scouting and outdoor activities on Lake Vättern. The organization has provided opportunities to experience sailing and waterside outdoor life since 1958. It welcomes new members from the year they turn 10, with no upper age limit.

Activities include a sailing school held during the first week of the summer holidays, as well as the Monday group, which sails from Jönköping harbour each week. The association also aims to arrange four sailing-focused hikes and camps each year. During the colder months, members meet indoors at Skeppargården. Its boats include Optimist dinghies, Monark 44s, an IF (International Folkboat) and a Lohi 465.

Jönköpings Sjöscoutkår also shares practical information for members, including packing lists and recommendations for trips and camps. It follows the Swedish Sailing Association’s mission, vision and values, and is based at Skeppargården on Västra Strandpromenaden in Jönköping.
