Sjoukjes Wereld is the childcare and babywearing service of Sjoukje van der Pool, a home-based childminder serving families in the Duin- en Bollenstreek region of the Netherlands. Sjoukje provides tailored childcare in the family’s own home, working with parents to understand what their household needs and help daily routines run smoothly. Her support can include taking children to school, responding to emergencies while they are there, arranging after-school activities, and sharing updates with parents at the end of the day. Depending on the family’s routine, children may also have a meal or bath before their parents return.

Sjoukje became an officially registered childminder in 2012 after completing training in care and welfare. Her approach grew from earlier experience volunteering with scouting and spending time with a friend who was a childminder. Alongside childcare, she offers babywearing consultations for parents in the region. These sessions help caregivers explore carrying their child, meet a baby’s need for closeness, and find practical guidance when a child is unsettled.
