SJ Sallinger Designs is a renowned brand in San Francisco, specializing in custom cabinets and home life design. Founded by Scott J. Sallinger, an experienced craftsman and design expert, the brand stands out for its exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail.
Scott's passion for creativity and design emerged early in his life, as he found inspiration in playing with Legos, Tinker Toys, and Lincoln Logs. Growing up in Pasadena, California, he developed a love for various types of boards, from keyboards and skateboards to surfboards and wooden boards. Before starting SJ Sallinger Designs, Scott gained valuable experience in home remodeling through his company, Sunny Boy Designs.
He offered handyman services to his community, hiring master craftsmen and learning all the trades involved in remodeling. He also had a successful music career, playing in his band 54 East and writing songs that reflected his observations of life and relationships. Scott's passion for art and community building led him to become Vice President of the Monrovia Arts Association and co-found the After School Art Program.
He also co-founded the monthly Plaza Art Walk, promoting local artists and their work. With a growing interest in furniture-making and cabinetry, Scott started experimenting with different materials and techniques. He showcased his designs at art shows and street fairs, where he discovered the common problems people faced in making the most of their home space.
In collaboration with his business partner, Steve Tobia, Scott opened the lifestyle store Environs. It quickly became a vibrant hub for local artists and the community, featuring handcrafted art and contemporary home accessories. Today, SJ Sallinger Designs continues to create custom cabinets and offer expert home life design services that transform spaces into functional and aesthetically pleasing environments.
