Sjuksköterskor mot Tobak

Sjuksköterskor mot Tobak (SmT) is a Swedish professional association and expert network dedicated to preventing tobacco and nicotine use and supporting tobacco cessation. Founded in 1992, it connects nurses and midwives across Sweden to share research, practical knowledge and experience with colleagues. The organisation highlights the role healthcare professionals can play in helping patients affected by tobacco-related illness and contributing to a tobacco- and nicotine-free society.

SmT offers educational resources on tobacco prevention, nicotine dependence and cessation, including guidance on motivational conversations, lifestyle changes, and discussions about smoking or snus use before surgery. Its materials include factsheets, films, book recommendations, training resources and practical reference aids. The association also shares news, research updates and answers to common questions through its website and digital member newsletter.
