Sjuskärets

Sjuskärets Långfärdsskridskoklubb is a skating club dedicated to promoting long-distance skating on natural ice in the Sjuhärad region of Sweden. Its aim is to make outdoor skating accessible to everyone interested in exploring frozen lakes. Members can join leader-guided club tours, receive updates on ice conditions and access information about skating activities. Depending on ice conditions and leader availability, guided outings are planned during the winter season, which may run from January to March.

Knowledge, education and safety are central to the club’s activities. Participants on club tours must bring specially adapted safety equipment, and the tour leaders are trained and familiar with many lakes in the region through their own skating experience. The club also uses Skridskonätet, a network connecting skating clubs that share ice reports. This helps members follow skating conditions across Sweden and, to some extent, the Nordic region.

The club’s open Facebook page features activity photos, videos and general information, and provides a space for member communication. Specific ice reports are shared only through Skridskonätet.
