Skagen Hestemassage

Skagen Hestemassage, run by Joan Christensen, provides equine massage and acupressure services throughout North Jutland, Denmark. Its guiding idea is that a healthy horse is a happy horse, and its treatments focus on supporting equine wellbeing and mobility. Preventive massage is offered to help address muscular tension and potential movement problems associated with training or competition. Using fingers, knuckles and elbows, the practitioner applies pressure and stretches the skin and muscle tissue. The service explains that this can stimulate circulation and help the body clear waste products, including lactic acid, more quickly, leaving the horse more supple and relaxed.

Massage can be combined with acupressure, which stimulates points along the body’s meridians through pressure rather than needles, following principles similar to acupuncture. Skagen Hestemassage is a member of the Danish horse massage association; the site notes that membership represents a quality assurance and that the practitioner is insured. Appointments can be arranged by phone or email. The business lists its contact details and identifies Joan Christensen as the practitioner.
