Skate NL

Skate Newfoundland & Labrador (Skate NL) is the provincial sport organization for figure skating in Newfoundland and Labrador and a member of Skate Canada. With a history spanning more than 60 years, it supports a network of skating clubs and schools in 30 communities, serving approximately 5,000 skaters, coaches, officials, and volunteers. Its programs include CanSkate, Canada’s learn-to-skate program, as well as power skating and figure skating opportunities for recreational, adaptive, and competitive participants.

Guided by a nationally recognized curriculum and delivered by professional coaches certified through the National Coaching Certification Program, Skate NL programs help participants develop balance, control, agility, and other skating skills. The organization also supports athlete development and competition, and provides resources and information for clubs, schools, coaches, and officials. Its activities include provincial and invitational events, event registration, calendars, results, awards, and pathways to provincial teams.

Skate NL aims to create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment that encourages skill development, enjoyment, personal growth, and wellness, while recognizing the achievements of participants across the province
