Skazolet is a children’s fairy-tale library that brings together folk and author-written stories in a searchable, easy-to-read online collection. Readers can find tales by title, character, or theme, explore the full catalogue, or browse categories such as Russian folk stories and fables. The library includes thousands of works, characters, and text versions, with stories presented in a reader-friendly format with large lettering.

Skazolet distinguishes between a story and its different versions, which may include translations, adaptations, edits, or folk variants. Where available, entries provide publication details such as year, publisher, illustrator, page references, and scans, along with source identifiers and a record of updates. New stories are added after checks of the text, source, and rights. The site also offers guidance and information about the project, including resources for families and rights holders. Designed for convenient reading on a browser or as an installed app, Skazolet helps families discover traditional and literary tales while offering context about where each text comes from.
