Southern Wisconsin Sled Hockey is an organization serving athletes and families in southern Wisconsin, including Madison, Verona, Sun Prairie, Middleton, Janesville, and nearby communities. It promotes sled hockey, an adaptive sport, as a way for people with physical limitations to develop skills, improve fitness, and enjoy fair play in a welcoming team environment. The organization emphasizes teamwork, enjoyment, and camaraderie for players of different ages and experience levels.
Its programs include the Wisconsin Tumblers, for children ages 5 to 8 who are beginning their sled hockey journey; the Wisconsin Skeeters, for players ages 8 to 18 who enjoy playing and competing; and the Wisconsin Sting, an adult team. The Skeeters were named 2024 Youth National Champions. Players and families can learn about joining a team, follow news about practices and tournaments, and connect through the organization’s website and Facebook page. Southern Wisconsin Sled Hockey also offers ways to support its work through donations and sponsorships, along with team gear for the Skeeters and Sting.
