Ski Arpa is a family-led backcountry skiing operation in Chile’s Aconcagua Valley, about two hours from Santiago. Founded from Austrian skier Toni Sponar’s pioneering exploration of the Andes, it offers guided access to remote, high-alpine terrain beneath Aconcagua, with views extending toward the Pacific. Its cat-skiing experience explores 4,000 acres of above-tree-line terrain, with descents of up to 3,000 vertical feet.
Small groups, professional mountain guides, and included safety equipment support a day away from lifts, crowds, and marked runs. For skiers seeking more remote routes, Ski Arpa also offers heliskiing, using helicopter access to reach Andean peaks and selecting runs according to snow and weather conditions. The operation emphasizes guided backcountry skiing and requires avalanche safety equipment.
Visitors can inquire about day rates and trip planning, and may combine their visit with Chilean resorts such as Portillo and Valle Nevado. Based in San Esteban, Ski Arpa shares an authentic Andean skiing experience shaped by its remote setting and longstanding connection to the mountains
