Ski Patrol

The Canadian Ski Patrol is a national non-profit organization serving Canada’s snow sports and outdoor recreation communities. Founded in 1941 as a first aid and rescue group for ski slopes, it has grown to more than 4,000 volunteer members working across over 200 alpine and Nordic ski areas. The organization provides first aid, medical support, and rescue services at resorts, and extends its work to recreational, music, and sporting events throughout the year, including coordination of medical teams.

Training is central to its mission. Patrollers meet the CSP National Standard Training requirements for first aid and snow skills, and the organization’s first aid training is accredited by the Canadian government. The Canadian Ski Patrol also certifies ski patrollers and advanced first aid personnel, while promoting safety and injury prevention on slopes and trails.

Membership benefits include advanced first aid training, access privileges at areas nationally, insurance coverage, legal support, and supplier discounts. Members also gain opportunities to ski, develop skills, and connect with fellow volunteers.
