About Skoki Lodge
Skoki Lodge is a historic backcountry lodge in the high alpine region of Banff National Park, near Lake Louise, Alberta. Built in 1930–1931 to welcome ski tourists, it is recognized as an early commercial facility of its kind in Canada. Today, the lodge offers a remote mountain retreat for visitors seeking hiking, skiing and time immersed in the Canadian Rockies.
Reaching Skoki involves an approximately 11-kilometre journey from Lake Louise over mountain terrain, making the trip part of the experience. In summer, guests can explore alpine lakes, mountain ridges and adjoining valleys, with wildflowers along the trails. In winter, the surrounding area offers ski touring, telemarking and cross-country routes for a range of abilities.
Accommodation is provided in a cozy log lodge and cabins, with meals including dinner and breakfast. Guests can enjoy shared spaces, a small library featuring local history and natural history, historic photographs, and opportunities to read, play games and connect with fellow travellers.
