Sýkorka is a community-based, nonprofit forest kindergarten in Brno, Czech Republic, and the city’s longest-running school of its kind. Established in 2011, it provides educational care for children aged two to seven, with a focus on balanced physical and emotional development through time in nature. The kindergarten welcomes a group of up to 16 children on weekdays and offers a thoughtfully planned program led by an experienced teaching team, drawing inspiration from Waldorf education.

Most activities take place outdoors in all kinds of weather, in a spacious garden and nearby forest. Indoor and sheltered facilities include a heated building, a converted caravan and a covered veranda. Children take part in nature walks, creative activities and clubs such as ceramics, nature study and English. Sýkorka encourages independence, emotional resilience, confidence, respect and responsibility, while working closely with families and adapting its approach to individual children. Its services also include trial and settling-in days, parent-and-child activities, holiday camps, professional support and opportunities for school visits or consultations.
