Skridsko

Skridskonätet is a nonprofit association made up of long-distance skating clubs in Sweden and beyond. It supports people who skate on natural ice by connecting them with clubs, fellow skaters and timely information to help plan outings. Members can access current reports on ice conditions and skating suitability, detailed trip accounts, GPS tracks, photographs, information about organized tours and other useful updates about the ice. Access to these resources is available through membership in a club or association affiliated with Skridskonätet.

The organization also helps prospective skaters find a nearby club through its club map, and offers guidance for existing clubs interested in joining the network. Many clubs provide introductory programs combining theory and practical experience, helping newcomers learn how to take part safely. Skridskonätet emphasizes that natural-ice skating calls for appropriate knowledge, equipment and companions, and provides guidance on equipment and safety. Alongside practical resources, it promotes the social side of skating, where group outings bring people together across ages and experience levels to explore changing winter landscapes.
