Skuteviken Skøite Club

Skuteviken Skøite Club (SSC) is a skating club based in Bergen, Norway, founded in 1991. It brings together people with an interest in skating and celebrates the sport’s history, competitions and community. It also organizes group trips to European and world skating events, giving members opportunities to watch competitions together and connect with fellow enthusiasts.

A central part of SSC’s work is supporting the next generation of skaters. Since 1992, the club has awarded scholarships to promising athletes, clubs and coaches, helping recipients develop their sporting potential. Recent recipients have included young speed skaters recognized for their results and prospects. SSC also encourages community support through Norway’s Grassroots Share scheme and a partnership with Flügger, which offers eligible customers discounts while directing a portion of purchases to the club. Through its activities, grants and extensive online archive, Skuteviken Skøite Club promotes skating and sustains connections among enthusiasts in Bergen and beyond.
