Skyby

Skyby is a flight-tracking app for people curious about the aircraft overhead, from casual skywatchers to dedicated planespotters. Available on iPhone, iPad, and Android, it identifies nearby airliners, private and business aircraft, and helicopters without requiring users to search or enter flight details. Airliner views include route and flight information, while general aviation and helicopter views show aircraft type and operator. Users can choose a location, drop a pin to monitor another area, or let the app follow them as they move. A live traffic display and inbound indicator help show what is nearby and approaching.

Skyby automatically records overhead aircraft in a logbook, including details such as tail, type, route, and passing time. It also offers alerts, with A380 and 747 alerts available by default, and creates broadcast-style captions for photos and videos. The free tier includes core identification and tracking features. Skyby Pro adds a larger catch radius, longer logbook history, custom alerts, aircraft photos, search, filters, statistics, bookmarks, and CSV export.
