Skywalker Electric

Skywalker Electric develops electric propulsion systems for paramotors and ultralight and microlight aircraft, with products designed for backpack and trike flying. Founded by inventor Ryan Pinto, the company set out to bring the quieter, calmer experience of paragliding to powered flight while addressing drawbacks associated with petrol paramotors. Its technology was conceptualized in Canada, with further development, design, and testing continuing in Goa, India.

The featured Skywalker Marathon M2 propulsion unit has a 20 kW motor, a 4.7 kWh battery rated for 1,500 cycles, and a stated maximum flight time of 70 minutes for a 90 kg pilot. It produces 82 kg of thrust and uses a four-blade, 125 cm propeller. The 30 kg unit includes cruise control and quick-swap battery packs with Bluetooth battery management for safety; charging takes about three hours.
