Skywerx Aviation Systems designs specialist harness systems for helicopter rescue crews, with a focus on supporting freedom of movement without compromising safety. Its Swimmer’s Harness is intended for rescue personnel working from helicopters, and its wander lead is designed to let crew members move while remaining restrained within the aircraft. The company’s product range also includes the Skywerx Rescue Seat, Patient Retrieval Ring, Rescue Swim equipment, Swimmer Wrap and Surf Harness.

Skywerx was founded by Jo Chitty, a former director of parachute rigging in Australia, and Nigel Brennan, a pilot and parachute instructor and packer with more than 30 years of experience. The business says its harness system was developed in response to a helicopter rescue operator seeking equipment that would hinder crews less during their work. The Swimmer’s Harness has been tested by crash laboratories in Sydney to ATSO standards and is being fitted to helicopters under individual CAR 35 approvals while CASA paperwork is completed
