SlangZone

SlangZone is a dynamic online dictionary dedicated to the vibrant and evolving lexicon of the Ukrainian language. This innovative platform serves as a repository for slang, dialects, neologisms, and even obscenities, allowing users to contribute their words and expressions. Unlike traditional dictionaries that focus on formal definitions, SlangZone embraces the rich, informal aspects of language, reflecting the diverse voices of contemporary Ukrainian society.

With over 1,756 entries, this digital collection draws examples from a variety of everyday contexts, including personal anecdotes, social media posts, and lively discussions. Whether it's the colloquial speech of different social groups or the latest trends in youth culture, SlangZone captures the essence of modern Ukrainian communication. This initiative also partially digitizes Lesya Stavytska’s landmark work, “Ukrainian Language Without Taboos,” providing a broader platform for the evolution of the language. For anyone interested in the living, breathing aspect of Ukrainian, SlangZone is an invaluable resource and community hub.
