The Samuel L. Eure Guide to Hope Education Foundation is a nonprofit organization established in 2002 for charitable and educational purposes. Created in memory of Samuel L. Eure, Sr., the foundation honors his legacy by encouraging education, leadership, integrity, and community involvement. It partners with the Science and Technology Corporation to administer the Samuel L. Eure Guide to Hope Scholarship Program.
The foundation’s primary offering is financial support for African American students pursuing undergraduate studies in science or mathematics. Its scholarship program is intended for eligible rising juniors and seniors attending accredited four-year colleges or universities in Virginia. Applicants must be U.S. citizens and have at least a 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale. Selection considerations include financial need, academic strength, leadership, and community involvement. Application materials include a transcript, two recommendation letters, a financial-need statement, and an essay about the student’s goals in math or science.
Beyond scholarships, the foundation aims to support educational activities that promote science and math curricula and careers.
