Slezské odrůdy

Slezské odrůdy is a Czech environmental organization, operating as ZO ČSOP Slezské odrůdy, z.s. Its work focuses on preserving old regional varieties of fruit trees and caring for the landscapes and communities connected with them. The organization establishes and maintains plantings, including orchards and tree avenues, and shares information about its completed and planned projects. Its website also invites people to report fruit varieties, supporting efforts to identify and safeguard local heritage.

Beyond planting, Slezské odrůdy manages the Chomýž grazing area, where grazing by aurochs and horses helps maintain open landscape. It also works at places such as Kabátův kopec and the Municipal Orchard by Petrova Pond, combining practical land care with opportunities for public involvement. Activities highlighted by the organization include community apple pressing, clean-up days, educational excursions, and volunteer conservation work. Through these projects and events, Slezské odrůdy brings together residents, students, experts, and local partners to protect biodiversity, traditional fruit varieties, and the character of the Silesian landscape.
