By giving children the freedom to make decisions and navigate their day peacefully, they learn how to respect others' rights and manage the balance between personal freedom and community responsibility. Located just outside Sligo town, our school provides a rich environment for students to grow into respectful, resourceful, resilient, healthy, compassionate, responsible, and passionate adults. We draw inspiration from various democratic schools worldwide and the research of renowned philosophers, academics, and practitioners.

As a registered charity and a social enterprise, we operate as an independent school catering to children aged 5-18 years. We are not government-funded and are proud founding members of Democratic Education Ireland.
