Slipper

Slipper is an independent Norwegian energy service that helps households manage electricity costs, regardless of which electricity company they use. It is not an electricity supplier. Through its app, Slipper helps users find suitable, low-cost electricity agreements, understand whether Norgespris or standard electricity support is the better option, and monitor consumption and expected costs.

The service scans the market every 15 minutes and can notify users when switching may be worthwhile or prices rise. After users create an account and connect their home using BankID, Slipper analyses information about the home, temperature and electricity use to build a household profile and provide personalised saving tips. The app also offers smart control features, currently in beta, allowing users to connect compatible smart devices, shift usage to cheaper hours, and use Nettleievakt to potentially reduce grid charges.

Slipper says it earns revenue solely through user subscriptions, not advertising or partnerships with electricity companies. Annual subscribers can try the service free for 14 days. The company is based in Oslo
