Slitherio

Slither.io is an online multiplayer snake game created by Steve Howse and released in March 2016. It invites players to guide a snake through a shared arena, collect glowing pellets, grow longer, and compete to climb the leaderboard. The simple rules make it easy to start: keep your head clear of other snakes, because a collision ends your run, while opponents that crash into your body are eliminated and leave mass behind for you to collect.

The game combines steady pellet gathering with strategic movement and fast-paced decisions. Players can use short speed boosts to escape danger, reach food, or cut off opponents, though boosting reduces mass. Growing larger offers more ability to block and circle, while smaller snakes can use their agility to challenge bigger rivals. Slither.io is playable in a web browser on desktop, mobile, and tablet, with mouse or touch controls and no download required. Its accessible arcade gameplay rewards patience, careful positioning, and well-timed risks, offering a competitive experience that is simple to learn but leaves room to develop skill.
