About Silver Lining NG
The Silver Lining for the Needy Initiative (SLNI) is a distinguished non-profit organization established in 2009 with a core mission to disseminate humanitarian aid to the impoverished. Dedicated to elevating the living standards of Nigerians, SLNI places a special emphasis on supporting children, youth, and women. Their commitment to making a difference was globally recognized when they were awarded special consultative status by the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) in 2021, the highest level of recognition outlined in Article 71 of the UN charter.
SLNI's vision is to create a world where communities thrive and individuals surpass societal limitations. They aspire to see every mother survive childbirth and every child enjoy fundamental social and health rights. To achieve these goals, SLNI focuses on the well-being and development of marginalized communities, particularly women and children, aiming to reduce societal injustices and discrimination.
SLNI implements comprehensive programs that encompass maternal health, newborn and child health, and adolescent and youth health. They also empower individuals through skills training, awareness campaigns, and advocacy initiatives. The organization collaborates with governmental entities, NGOs, and religious figures, fostering self-reliance and community involvement in their own progress and welfare.
At SLNI, their organizational strength lies in their understanding of community needs, which they derive from extensive surveys and high community engagement levels. They rely on passionate volunteers and foster an environment that encourages innovative approaches and risk-taking when necessary. SLNI's ultimate goal is to improve the lives of the poor, disadvantaged, and vulnerable, with a particular focus on women and children, through initiatives that combat social injustice and discrimination.
With their core values of empathy, transparency and accountability, sustainability, and collaboration and partnership, SLNI is dedicated to making a lasting impact on communities in need
