About SlowUp Sundgau
SlowUp Sundgau Alsace is a free, family-friendly event celebrating active travel, local scenery and community life in the Sundgau region. Its 2026 edition is scheduled for Sunday, August 30, from 10 a. m.
to 6 p. m. The event opens a 35-kilometre route to non-motorized travel, including cycling, walking, roller skating and scootering, offering visitors the chance to explore local villages and landscapes at their own pace.
Thirteen festive gathering places along the route feature activities and opportunities to enjoy local flavors. Participants who prefer a shorter outing can use a free shuttle service, with spaces available to carry bicycles. SlowUp draws on a concept developed 26 years ago and popularized in neighboring Switzerland: temporarily closing attractive roads to motor traffic and filling the route with varied activities.
The Sundgau edition involves towns including Altkirch, Dannemarie, Carspach and Illfurth, and is supported by local, institutional and event partners. An official online shop also offers SlowUp Sundgau merchandise
