Smack Shack, a beloved brand in Minneapolis and Edina, is a casual coastal seafood restaurant that serves up mouthwatering dishes. Launched initially as a food truck by owner Josh Thoma, Smack Shack gained recognition after being featured on Guy Fieri's Diners, Drive-ins and Dives on the Food Network. The story of Smack Shack began in 2010 when Josh Thoma started serving lobster rolls from a land-locked parking lot in downtown Minneapolis.
The success of the truck led to a partnership with The 1029 Bar in Northeast Minneapolis, where they still serve today. In 2011, Smack Shack even had the opportunity to park at city meters thanks to new legislation. Following on from this, the brand expanded and opened a brick and mortar restaurant in Minneapolis' North Loop neighborhood in February 2013.
Since then, Smack Shack has become renowned for its delectable seafood offerings, earning accolades from fans and food critics alike. Dedicated to sustainability, Smack Shack sources its seafood responsibly, ensuring the long-term growth and thriving populations of various species. Whether you're looking for a satisfying meal, private dining, or even classes and events, Smack Shack has got you covered.
