Small Scholars Preschool

Small Scholars is a licensed group childcare center and preschool in downtown Plymouth, Massachusetts. Founded in 2005 as a family daycare by Miss Mindy, it expanded to its current location in 2007. The school operates during the school year in line with the Plymouth Public School calendar, serving children from 15 months to 5 years old across four purpose-designed classrooms.

Small Scholars offers half-day toddler, preschool, and pre-kindergarten programs. Its toddler classroom supports young children through safe, age-appropriate play, predictable routines, and guided activities. Preschool and pre-K classrooms combine teacher-led learning with child-directed exploration, using centers for literacy, science, building, dramatic play, art, and sensory activities. Group experiences include circle time, stories, music, movement, and interactive projects; pre-K also introduces age-appropriate STEM activities. Daily schedules balance learning, play, snacks, and lunch, with extended half-day hours and lunchtime stays among the school’s distinctive features. Teachers communicate regularly with families about children’s progress, milestones, and classroom activities. Small Scholars focuses on nurturing development, social growth, creativity, and kindergarten readiness.
