Smart Cities Accelerator (SCA) is dedicated to creating smart cities and a fossil-free future in the Öresund region. Supported by Interreg Öresund-Kattegat-Skagerrak and partners from 2016 to 2020, SCA focuses on developing and testing methods to make electricity and heat production more climate-friendly and buildings more energy-efficient. They also prioritize citizen involvement in the green energy transition.

SCA+ is the continuation of their two-year project (December 2020 - September 2022), where they have collaborated with 10 partners in Denmark and Sweden. During this time, they have developed and tested innovative solutions and approaches to address the urgent energy crisis. Their achievements include a concept for local, shared heating systems that could become a mainstream solution for utilities in both countries, as well as tools for energy planning, financial calculations, and simulation models for efficient energy management.

The project has been supported by the EU program Interreg Öresund-Kattegat-Skagerrak. Although SCA+ concluded in September 2022, their website still showcases their results and recommendations
