**Smart Grid Flevoland - Equans**
Smart Grid Flevoland, a pioneering initiative by Equans, addresses the pressing need for sustainable energy solutions in the Flevoland region of the Netherlands. As a modern electricity network, it harmonizes the demand and supply of green energy, effectively tackling the challenges posed by fluctuations in renewable energy production, particularly from solar and wind sources.
The Smart Grid integrates both central and decentralized energy producers, facilitating the development of renewable generation installations, energy storage systems, and flexible energy applications. The project currently boasts 514,394 solar panels, 37 wind turbines, and 2 MW of batteries, collectively generating enough energy to power over 160,000 households annually.
Additionally, it explores hydrogen possibilities and enhances energy efficiency by clustering generation installations with storage solutions.
