About SMEDA
Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) is an autonomous institution of the Government of Pakistan under the Ministry of Industries and Production. Established in 1998, SMEDA's primary objective is to encourage and facilitate the development and growth of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the country. As an SME policy-advisory body, SMEDA not only serves the government but also supports other stakeholders in their SME development agendas.
SMEDA offers a wide range of services to SMEs, including business facilitation services, financial services such as SME financing and equity financing, and legal services. They also provide training services, with a calendar of trainings and profiles of prospective trainers. SMEDA's Industry Support Cell focuses on productivity improvement, energy efficiency, and technical trainings.
Moreover, they maintain an Information Resource Centre that offers access to various SME resources, guides, and publications. Over the years, SMEDA has made significant achievements, including facilitating over 200,000 SMEs, conducting over 3,000 trainings, and preparing over 350 pre-feasibility studies. They are committed to supporting SME growth and development in Pakistan.
