SmerteLinjen is a free advice and support service offered by FAKS, the Danish Association for People Living with Chronic Pain and Their Relatives. It helps people affected by pain, as well as their family members, find guidance, practical information and a sympathetic listener. The service is staffed by experienced volunteer advisers, including social workers, physiotherapists, pain nurses, occupational therapists and psychological advisers, alongside people who have personal experience of living with chronic pain.

Callers can discuss ways to manage pain and make everyday life more workable, ask about social and health-related matters, or simply talk with someone who understands their situation. SmerteLinjen presents its advisers as ready to listen and respond to each person’s needs. The website also provides information about the service, opening hours, frequently asked questions, self-help resources and opportunities to collaborate or volunteer as an adviser. Through this free, human-centred guidance, SmerteLinjen connects people navigating chronic pain with informed support and understanding.
