Smile for Service

Smiles for Service, Inc. is a Maryland 501(c)(3) nonprofit dental initiative that helps veterans access dental care when they cannot afford it. The organization connects veterans with participating dental practices in communities including Baltimore, Towson, Essex, and Hyattsville. Care is provided free to veterans, with no bills or hidden fees, and the organization reports an average wait of fewer than 10 days from intake to treatment. Its network includes dental professionals who donate thousands of hours each year, helping veterans address urgent needs and receive respectful, supportive care.

Smiles for Service also offers information to help patients understand where they may qualify for care and what treatment may involve. Its resources include patient and professional guides, reports, policies, and stories about veterans’ experiences. Supporters can contribute through donations, volunteering, clinic or organizational partnerships, and fundraising. The nonprofit also works with sponsors through partnership packages that may include community visibility, event recognition, digital promotion, and employee volunteer opportunities.
