Smiles on Wheels is a mobile dental service bringing gentle, preventive oral health care to people who may find it difficult or stressful to attend a traditional clinic. Serving Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, the Central Coast and surrounding areas, the team provides care in patients’ homes, aged-care facilities, group homes and other familiar settings. Its services support children, families, seniors, people with disabilities and patients with dental anxiety or complex needs.

Mobile appointments include dental examinations, cleanings, denture care and oral health guidance, with advice for caregivers where appropriate. The service can adapt visits for people who use wheelchairs or are bed-bound, and refers patients to local clinics or specialists when care is beyond its mobile capabilities. Smiles on Wheels also offers Brusharoo oral health education sessions for preschools, childcare centres and schools, as well as professional teeth-whitening options through The Whitening Lab. Health funds are accepted, and eligible children may be able to claim services through the Child Dental Benefits Schedule.
