The Stockport Metropolitan Junior Football League (SMJFL) has been a cornerstone of grassroots football for over 40 years, dedicated to providing inclusive playing opportunities for boys and girls aged 6 to 18. With more than 300 teams registered, the league fosters a vibrant community of young athletes, ensuring games are held weekly across several well-equipped venues, including Life Leisure Brinnington Park and Stockport Sports Village.

The SMJFL encourages participation from all skill levels, allowing girls to play in age groups one year younger, in line with FA guidelines. Volunteer-driven, the league thrives on the commitment and passion of its members, from coaches to supporters, who collectively create a positive and nurturing environment for players.

As youth transition from development to competitive football, the SMJFL offers both Saturday and Sunday league options, supporting continuous play until they reach U18 levels. For those looking to enhance their football journey, the league connects players with opportunities up to U21 and Open Age football. For further inquiries or to join, reach out at [email protected].
