SMWS Australia

The Scotch Malt Whisky Society Australia is a members’ whisky club dedicated to distinctive flavours and adventurous whisky experiences. Established in Edinburgh in 1983, the Society now has branches in 33 countries and more than 42,000 members worldwide. Its Australian community brings together newcomers and seasoned enthusiasts in a welcoming, relaxed setting.

The Society specialises in rare single-cask whiskies, bottled at cask strength without added water, colouring or filtration. Sourced from distilleries around the world, each whisky is selected by an expert tasting panel and presented with a curious name that highlights its flavour rather than its distillery or brand. Members can explore more than 15 single-cask releases each month, alongside selected single-cask spirits.

Membership also opens the door to tastings, whisky dinners, pop-up events and themed degustations, with experiences designed for a range of knowledge levels. The Society shares its latest releases and whisky insights through its Outturn catalogue, magazine and online content, and offers private tastings and access to partner bars.
