Smythcasting

Smyth Casting is an Ottawa-based casting company led by casting director and founder Ilona Smyth, CSA, with a team of casting associates and specialists working across Ontario and beyond. With more than 20 years of experience and over 200 projects cast, the company serves film, television, commercial, print, corporate video and live-event productions. Its work ranges from principal roles, including lead and local actor casting, to background casting. Smyth Casting draws on relationships with talent agencies in Canada and internationally, and works with productions while considering budgets, deadlines and union requirements.

Alongside casting services, the company offers workshops for actors ages six and up, with sessions for beginners through advanced participants. Topics include auditions, acting for film and television, dialects and the business of entertainment. Ilona Smyth also provides one-on-one coaching, in person or via Zoom, covering character development and script analysis.
